Get to know Dr. Windham-Wilder

A native of Bennettsville, South Carolina, Dr. Sonya Windham-Wilder graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. She obtained her doctor of dental medicine degree from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina in 1996. Upon completion of a one-year general practice residency in Columbia, South Carolina, Dr. Windham-Wilder worked as a general dentist in Florence, South Carolina.

With her undying love for children, she moved to Washington, DC and received advanced training in a two-year pediatric dentistry residency in 2001. After completing residency, she moved to the Atlanta metro area.

Currently, Dr. Windham-Wilder is involved in various organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, National Dental Association, Georgia Dental Society, North Georgia Dental Society and charter member and Chaplin of Upsilon Sigma Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Windham-Wilder is married to Attorney Kirk A. Wilder and has a beautiful set of twins, Kaden and Kaitlyn. She enjoys liturgical dancing, reading, international traveling and spending quality time with family and close friends. She continues to strive to live by Proverbs 31 in becoming a virtuous woman.
